Years ago my wife and I had twin baby girls. Looking back I know I will never remember many of the images that I tried to set firmly in my mind. I searched my house for photos of when the girls were babies only to turn up with five small digital photos that came from a 1.2 MP point and shoot. Most of the other files were either loss, corrupted, or just plain bad. As my wife was pregnant with my son an important decision had to be made. At that moment I decided to "go big". I purchased the Canon Rebel XT. With it I started my adventure in photography...

...with the Rebel I took pictures of just about everything. Photography was starting to become comfortable until my beautiful wife asked me one question. Long story made short, "Will you photograph a wedding for a friend of my friend?" That one question began the education process of painting with light. It also forced me to upgrade to my current camera the Nikon D200, along with a external flash, a flash bracket, a wireless controller, etc... I think you get the picture.

My respect for professional photographers has grown over the last two years as I have come to understand the amount of work that comes before pressing the shutter button as well as the long hours of work after pressing that same button. "Until you walk in their shoes you will never know..." I heard in my head, from whom I can't quite remember. The amount of time, detailed attention, and learning invested in each area of photography still amazes me. Shooting at a wedding is very different than shooting landscapes; shooting studio portraits is greatly different from night photography. Every style requires special attention to different areas, lights and highlights, posing and composition, noise and contrast, and the list goes on.

I am hoping by designing this web site, people will encourage and positively challenge me on my journey. This is an experience that I want to share with the outside world because sometimes we get so busy with life, that we forget to slow down and see the beauty God creates for us each and every day.
